SWEDISH MEATBALL NOODLE BAKE
Swedish Meatball Noodle Bake
Ingredients:
Meatballs:
- 1.1 lbs ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Noodle Bake:
- 14 oz egg noodles
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare Meatballs:
- Preheat your oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F).
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, onion, egg, bread crumbs, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Form into small meatballs, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
Cook Noodles:
- While the meatballs are baking, boil the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make Sauce:
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth, and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and Bake:
- In a large baking dish, mix the cooked noodles and meatballs.
- Pour the sauce over the noodle and meatball mixture.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan and Swiss cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
Serve:
- Garnish with chopped parsley.
