Creamy Garlic Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 8-12 Chicken Drumsticks
  • Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tsp Dried Basil
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 2 tsp Rosemary
  • 2 tbsp Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Large Onion (minced)
  • 1 Bell Pepper (minced)
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 tbsp Chicken Bouillon Powder or two cubes
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Chicken: Clean and wash the chicken drumsticks, then pat them dry with a paper towel. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, basil, thyme, and rosemary.
  3. Brown Chicken: Heat some olive oil in a cast-iron skillet or any oven-safe skillet. Add the chicken drumsticks to the skillet and brown them on all sides for about 4-5 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer the chicken to a dish and cover it with foil.
  4. Cook Vegetables: In the same skillet (do not clean it, as the leftover flavor is essential), add the butter. Once melted, add the minced bell pepper and onion. Cook until the vegetables are translucent, then add the minced garlic and mix well.
  5. Make the Sauce: Add the flour to the skillet and stir until well mixed with the vegetables. Gradually add the chicken broth, mixing until the sauce begins to thicken. Then add the milk, heavy cream, and chicken bouillon, and mix until fully combined.
  6. Combine and Cook: Add the fresh parsley to the sauce, then place the browned chicken back into the skillet. Spoon the gravy over the chicken, then transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Cook for about 40 minutes.
  7. Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and serve the creamy garlic chicken drumsticks over cauliflower mash, mashed potatoes, rice, or with your favorite side dish. Enjoy!
