Clafoutis with cherries: the French cake with a rich and creamy taste!
INGREDIENTS
- 600g fresh sweet cherries, drained and pitted
- 30g (2 tablespoons) of melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 240ml (1 cup) of milk
- 100g (3/4 cup) of flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 100g (1/2 cup) of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, to dust
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C). Grease a round dish that is oven-safe with butter. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Arrange the cherries in a single layer; set aside until you prepare the dough.
- Mix eggs with the rest of the sugar and salt. Incorporate the flour.
- Add milk, vanilla extract, almond extract and mix well until homogeneous. Add the melted butter and stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture over the cherries and bake for about 40-45 minutes at 180Β°C/350Β°F, until puffed up and golden.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
