BEST-EVER PEPPER STEAK

Gather These Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cups low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar
  • 4 teaspoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly minced ginger
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Let’s Get Cooking!

  1. Whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch in a medium bowl to prepare our delicious sauce. Set this aside for later.
  2. Let’s heat up a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over high heat. Once the oil is hot, it’s time to add our flank steak. Season it with salt and cook for about 8 minutes or until both sides are beautifully seared. After it’s cooked through, let’s transfer the flank steak onto a plate.
  3. We’re not done with our skillet yet! Add the remaining oil followed by the green bell peppers. Cook these for about 4 minutes until they’re tender. Now add in the garlic and ginger. Stir and cook until the aroma fills your kitchen.
  4. It’s time to reunite our beef with the skillet. Pour the sauce we prepared earlier over the beef and cook for about 12 minutes, stirring until the sauce is glossy.
  5. Once we’re done, remove from the heat and serve with fluffy white rice. Enjoy this mouth-watering meal you’ve prepared!
