BBQ Smoked Mac n Cheese π§
Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded smoked gouda
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions:
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook until golden.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cream, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the cheddar, gouda, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, then transfer to a baking dish.
- Drizzle the BBQ sauce over the mac n cheese.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle over the top.
- Bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and crispy.
Notes:
For a smoky flavor, add a handful of wood chips to your oven or grill.
