Ingredients:

For the Cake Batter:

  • 2 egg yolks ๐Ÿฅš
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) oil ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ
  • ยฝ tsp (3ml) vanilla ๐Ÿฆ
  • ยผ cup (60ml) milk ๐Ÿฅ›
  • ยฝ cup (62g) all-purpose flour ๐ŸŒพ
  • ยฝ tsp (3g) baking powder ๐Ÿง
  • ยฝ tsp (3g) salt ๐Ÿง‚
  • 3 egg whites ๐Ÿฅš
  • ยฝ tsp (2ml) white vinegar ๐Ÿฅ„
  • ยผ cup (50g) sugar ๐Ÿฌ

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Caramel

  1. In a pan over medium-low heat, add ยฝ cup sugar and 3 tbsp water. Stir constantly until the sugar turns golden brown. ๐Ÿฏ
  2. Add 2 more tbsp of water, stir well, and pour the caramel into the bottom of a loaf pan. Set aside to cool. ๐ŸงŠ

Step 2: Prepare the Custard
