Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry 🥩🥦🍜

Ingredients:

For the Beef Marinade:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large carrot, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water

Directions:

Step 1: Marinate the Beef

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and rice vinegar.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, tossing to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and beef broth or water. Set aside.

Step 3: Stir-Fry the Vegetables

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the broccoli florets, bell pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  3. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4: Stir-Fry the Beef

  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  2. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Add the minced garlic and minced ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.

Step 5: Combine and Cook

  1. Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the beef.
  2. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  3. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  4. Stir in the chopped green onions.

Serve the beef and broccoli stir-fry hot over steamed rice or noodles.
