Clafoutis with cherries: the French cake with a rich and creamy taste!

INGREDIENTS

  • 600g fresh sweet cherries, drained and pitted
  • 30g (2 tablespoons) of melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 240ml (1 cup) of milk
  • 100g (3/4 cup) of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 100g (1/2 cup) of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, to dust

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a round dish that is oven-safe with butter. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  2. Arrange the cherries in a single layer; set aside until you prepare the dough.
  3. Mix eggs with the rest of the sugar and salt. Incorporate the flour.
  4. Add milk, vanilla extract, almond extract and mix well until homogeneous. Add the melted butter and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture over the cherries and bake for about 40-45 minutes at 180°C/350°F, until puffed up and golden.
  6. Sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
