Steak and Shake Garlic Double Steakburger π₯©π§π

Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Β½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 cup sliced onions
Instructions:
- Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape into thin patties.
- Season patties with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Cook patties on the griddle for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
- While patties are cooking, mix softened butter with garlic powder.
- Grill the onions and set aside.
- Spread garlic butter on the insides of hamburger buns and toast on the griddle until golden brown.
- Place a slice of American cheese on 4 patties and top each with another patty to make double burgers.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom buns and sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Place the double steakburgers on the buns, pile on the grilled onions and top with the remaining bun halves.
Notes:
Add lettuce, tomato, and pickles for extra flavor and crunch.
